           Table Rock Lake is located in southwest Missouri nestled among the beautiful Ozark hills. It sets just south of the country music capital, Branson, Missouri and approximately 50 miles south of Springfield.
            Construction of the dam was started in 1954 by the Corps of Engineers and completed in 1958. The dam backs up the White River to form Table Rock​ Lake. It was built mainly for flood control due to terrible flooding of the White River valley in the past. Local towns of Branson, Hollister, and Rockaway Beach were flooded quite often and in need of the dam. During construction there was also 4 turbines put in the dam for hydro electric power generation.
             Table Rock Lake is the second of 4 lakes in a chain of lakes along the White River. The first is Beaver Lake located near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Beaver Lake was completed in 1966 and is 28,000 surface acres and approximately 50 miles long. The third is Lake Taneycomo, located at Branson,Mo. Taneycomo was created in 1913 when power site dam was built. The lake is only 22 miles long but more like a river in that it is more narrow. The fourth is Bull Shoals Lake located near Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Bull Shoals is over 45,000 surface acres and approximately 90 miles long.
              Table Rock ​Lake is 43,000 surface acres with over 800 miles of shoreline. It's deep clear waters are home to approx. 20 different species of fish and is rated as one of the best bass lakes in the nation. Not only Largemouth but also Smallmouth and Kentucky Spotted Bass are in the lake. Other species include Bluegill perch, Walleye, White Bass, Crappie, Cat fish, and Spoonbill just to name a few.
              Around the lake you can find ​many full service marinas and numerous resorts from the small mom and pop resorts to large top of the line resorts for our for all your recreational needs.
               ​Nearby Branson is a one of a kind vacation destination. There are numerous music theaters that offer very good family type entertainment. Also there are theme parks including Silver Dollar City and Sheppard Of The Hills. There are several golf courses, lake cruises, shopping areas, and other various attractions for any and all age groups and interest.
              The whole area is a wonderful vacation destination. Very scenic, great people, and more things to do than time to do them.
